The Griffin is a series of upright chimes designed to reverberate, producing a rich sound that lingers for three to five seconds before fading. It features a full eleven note range, tuned with precision to the C Major Pentatonic scale. Kids will immediately enjoy the visceral feeling of striking the chimes with the included mallets, but will quickly find themselves creating or duplicating simple melodies. The sound harmonizes well with the lighter, more staccato notes of other instruments, which is why it earned a place in the Weenotes Ensemble package alongside the Piper and Merry. Its upright structure means that it only requires a relatively small area of ground to install, making it an easy addition to include in any outdoor space. The height of the instrument does not exclude anyone from using it, since the recycled plastic mounting posts can be adjusted to give it an install height anywhere between 3’ 3” and 5’.
