These batting cage kits are available in one of two sizes: 12 feet W x 10 feet H x 70 feet L (includes eight posts) or 12 feet W x 10 feet H x 55 feet L (includes ten posts). The 70 foot long model is ideal for baseball as it presents enough room at the far end for equipment storage like pitching machines or portable mounds. And having multiple size options gives you freedom to acquire a quality batting cage that’s best suited for your grounds.
Each of the posts of the outdoor batting cages is built of rugged aluminum or steel and requires mounting in concrete footing. The batting cage nets are composed of resilient nylon and available with purchase of the cage (or you can simply buy the framework if you already own compatible netting). Ropes and pulleys incorporated into the poles allow for netting to be elevated to the ideal position.
Due to the varying bounce potential of different sports balls, it’s important to secure quality backstop netting appropriate to the sport being practiced in a batting cage system at your site . If requiring a batting cage net, you’ll need to select the 1-¾ inch square mesh nylon net. Those wanting a multi-sport net (e.g. for football, soccer, etc.) will need to choose the ¾ inch square mesh net.
